50th Anniversary of Portmeirion Botanic Garden
The Portmeirion Botanic Garden Collection is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and you may remember that I shared the amazing Portmeirion Botanic Garden 50th Anniversary 18 Piece Dinnerware Set | Portmeirion which comes in a beautiful picnic hamper/basket. You can read about it all in my blog post.
And do you know what I love best about the Botanic Garden collection? The pattern is timeless and can be used all year round.
The Anniversary Set
I love this picnic hamper/basket and I used it a few weeks ago when we went to the Hollywood Bowl. It is the perfect basket to pack a fancy dinner for the Hollywood Bowl.
The basket contains an 18-piece dinnerware set which includes six each of the Botanic Garden dinner plates, salad plates, and pasta bowls. This commemorative basket and dinnerware set is available exclusively at portmeirion.com and can be purchased here.
An Elegant Fall Dinner with Botanic Garden
I wanted to share how wonderful all of the items from the Portmeirion Botanic Garden Collection look on a fall table in our dining room.
To set this table I combined three Botanic Garden Harmony White plates with the three Botanic Garden Dinner plates. I topped them all with six Botanic Garden Salad plates. I added some of my favorites stored in my Butler’s Pantry, which includes copper chargers, cranberry glasses, and vintage glassware.
You know how much I love to mix and match! Let me share with you the Portmeirion items I used on this table.
- Botanic Garden Harmony White 10.5 Inch Dinner Plate
- Botanic Garden Tea Towel
- Botanic Garden 8.5 Inch Salad Plate Set of 6
- Botanic Garden 10.5 inch Dinner Plate Set of 6
- Botanic Garden 20 Piece Flatware Set
The Botanic Garden 20 Piece Flatware Set is a modern take on the triple leaf pattern found at the edge of the dishes and the napkins. The flatware is sturdy 18/10 stainless steel and dishwasher safe.
I also used the Pimpernel Botanic Garden Tea Towels as napkins and I think they look wonderful on this table. They are a perfect size and I love the flowers on them!
I added some of my Cranberry glasses and used a vintage cranberry glass punch bowl as a vase for my centerpiece. Aren’t the colors fabulous?
For a fun DIY, you can make my Pumpkin Craft with Decoupage Napkins as seen on the table.
Botanic Garden 10-Piece Nesting Set
Portmeirion also released a Botanic Garden Nesting Set which is one of the most creative things I have ever seen! See the photo above? That is what the set looks like when nested. Now, take a look at the photo below.
Would you believe that all of the Botanic Garden items you see in this photo above are actually what make the Botanic Garden Stacking Set?
This is how you put them together!
Now, how cool is that? I love how great the pieces from the Botanic Garden Stacking Set look on the table too! They are perfect for sauces, nuts, and anything else.
The History of Portmeirion Botanic Garden
Portmeirion Botanic Garden is a true British classic, designed by the celebrated designer Susan Williams-Ellis in 1972. She was inspired by 19th-century botanical illustrations when she created the pattern which includes mixing and matching floral motifs.
