Christmas Crafting – How to Style Your Front Porch
Welcome To Ten Days Of Christmas Crafting. Today We Are Going to Style a Christmas-themed Urn for the Front Porch.
Christmas front porch styling does not have to be difficult. I will show you how I styled mine using fresh greenery and faux fruit.
I finally styled our front porch for Christmas! It took me a while because I have been so focused on finishing decorating the inside of our home.
By the way, welcome to Ten Days of Christmas Crafting!
Today is Day Three and I am very happy to share how to style your own pot, crock, or urn for the holidays.
You can check out my previous crafts here:

I got these amazing copper urns this past fall and I have been really excited to style them for Christmas.
The two urns in the back have inset planters and all I had to do was add some fresh greens. The two smaller urns in the front had beautiful autumn inserts. I knew I needed to replace them with my own Christmas “inserts”.
As you can see, I actually only did one of the pots. The one on the left is kind of dead.
But that’s ok because today I created the other one on my Facebook Live.
For ten days I am sharing a LIVE tutorial of Christmas crafts at 10:00 am PST (12:00 noon CST, 1:00 pm EST) on my the Facebook Live here.
I know what you are thinking. “Wait, is decorating an urn for your front porch for Christmas a craft?”.
Of course, it is! I spend a lot of time arranging flowers in our home and it’s kind of the same process as decorating an urn.
I also had a feeling some of you might have wanted to learn how to do this.
And it is so much easier than anyone thinks.
What You Need to Style This Urn
Six pieces of floral oasis. (Oasis is a wet floral foam used for real flower arranging. It soaks up water like a sponge and acts both as a preservative to prolong the life of the flowers and a support to hold them in place.)
Fresh greenery such as cedar, eucalyptus, or any other “Christmas” greens.
One fresh cedar wreath.
Berries, or any “faux” color to add to the arrangement.
Here is a close-up view of the urn I styled. I can’t wait to show you how to do this! And the good news is that it only took about twenty minutes to make. And the urn was very inexpensive to make.
I know you are probably wondering why you need a wreath to style an urn. I can’t wait to show you!
Do you recognize the pomegranates I purchased last fall? Don’t they look great in my urn for Christmas too?
Speaking of wreaths, the wreath on the front door is from Balsam Hill and I have had it since last year.
I added some wonderful fresh greenery to the faux wreath and I am so happy how it came out. (This is my secret to how you can make faux greenery smell like Christmas.)
If you want to learn how to do this, join me on the LIVE Facebook video or watch the video here as soon as I upload it.

I always stress over the front porch
Yours is perfect! Thanks for sharing, I’m now doing the same thing
Gorgeous! I’ve been thinking a lot about how to style my porch for the holidays this year, and now you’ve inspired me 🙂 . I will definitely “borrow” these ideas. Thank you!
This is so pretty and gives me some ideas for our front entry. Can you tell me if the faux berries ever fade with sun?
Beautiful pots, where did you find them?
Very much enjoyed the live craft today… you made it look easy❤️🎄
I made beautiful greenery pots thanks to your advice but now the greenery 4 out of 6 types are all turning brown; crushed; how could I have prevented that; got about 6 weeks out of them. Would appreciate advice for another year.
