If you follow my blog or read my posts on Instagram then you probably know I have been wanting to redo our family room. Our family room is located right off the kitchen and it’s where we spend a lot of time.
I have posted plenty of photos of our family room. But they have been very sneaky. Can you guess why?
Today I’m sharing an update to my master bedroom. The tile has finally been put in and I’m one step further to finishing the room. Read on to see more of what I did and what I still have to do!

One of the problems with Instagram is that it’s not realistic. All of the photos we post are perfect as if our homes look that way all of the time. As you know, that’s far from the truth. Well, today’s post is going to show you the “other side” of the camera.
It took almost an entire day to install new lighting on the back porch. First, I had my handyman replace the crooked and scary looking black chandelier. I bought this at the Rose Bowl flea market in 2000 and thought it looked nice. But I have disliked that chandelier for seventeen years!
Since my husband was going to be out of town for four days I decided to tackle two renovation projects: the back porch and our bedroom remodel. I know it sounds crazy, but my husband travels without me about once a year. So this was my only chance to get these big projects done!
