Renovation Challenge with Jeffrey Court – Week #6 – The Final Reveal
This is week six of the Jeffrey Court Challenge. Which means it is the final master bathroom reveal!
Remodeling our master bathroom has been a big project in our Waco Fixer Upper home because we started with a gutted house! (We had so much work to do that we took it almost down to the studs.) Plus I made some changes to the project which put us behind schedule. For example, we ended up having to remove the roof and build a new one in order to make the wrap around porch work the way I wanted. We also decided to add an addition on to the backside of our home to allow for a master bedroom and bath.
Fortunately, persistence prevailed, and I am pleased to share our new master bathroom. Please know that this never would have been possible without Jeffrey Court.
Before and After
This is what the bathroom looked like when we started this challenge.
And this is what it looks like now.
Making Decisions
There were so many decisions that went into this remodel. Of course the first was selecting the tile.
My biggest goal for this bathroom was to select tile that is timeless. I chose marble because it was used in a lot of buildings at the time our home was built. I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the Jeffrey Court choices of marble tile because I liked them all! But when the tile arrived in Waco, I was beyond excited. The tile was more beautiful than I ever imagined. You can find the tile selections and links to all of the products here.
One of the decisions that I am really excited about is the grout color. Can I be honest and admit that I have never used anything other than white grout on a tile project? But not this time. I chose Delorean Grey Grout from Home Depot because I wanted the detail of this beautiful tile to stand out. I am beyond ecstatic with how it came out. Look how great this looks with dark grout.
The floor is absolutely fabulous.
I also love the tile in the shower. Here is a link to the shower bench.
Isn’t it wonderful how fabulous tile can have such an impact in a bathroom? I am beyond thrilled with my master bath reveal.
Adding Decor to the Bathroom
While the tile was being installed, I began the search for the bathroom vanity. I wanted to find something different, so I went to one of my favorite stores in Waco, the Findery. I found the most perfect table and I fell in love with it. It’s not normally used in a bathroom, but I love it!
I found two vessel sinks to sit on top of the vanity and they are perfect. The faucets are from Amazon. The baskets are from The Findery. And the vintage mirrors are from Antiques and Vintage Texas.
I also added a shelf to hold the baskets. I bought two pieces of distressed wood at a local antique store and absolutely love how they came out!
I also shopped for bathroom decor accessories at The Findery. I found this fabulous vintage wood screen, the baskets, and plant.
The shower door isn’t installed yet. In case you didn’t know, you can’t order a built-in shower door until after the tile is installed. I cannot wait to share the new shower door once it is installed.
Don’t forget this challenge is a contest. If you like what you see, head on over to Jeffrey Court and vote for my project! Pretty please!
