Easy Elegance Wednesdays – How Our Home Became Famous in the Movies
I Am So Excited To Share With You Easy Elegance Wednesdays, Where We Celebrate Simple Elegant Decor. Today I Am Sharing How Our Home Became Famous in the Movies.
When we bought our home from my in-law’s twenty-two years ago, I never imagined we would be filming movies, commercials and TV shows for twenty years! It’s been a lot of fun and we have some great memories of the famous people that have filmed in our home!
I wrote a blog post with links to many of the scenes that have been filmed at our home. We have filmed mostly commercials at our home for companies such as Capital One Walmart, Blue Bunny Ice Cream, Skittles, Ballpark Franks, Home Depot, Williams-Sonoma, Schwab, Donato Pizza, Gogurt, Osteo BiFlex, Pillsbury, Nestle, Bank of America, Bounty Paper towels, LeapFrog, Clorox, Lands End, Wells Fargo, Sunny Delight, Linens & Things, Visa, Kelloggs, Safeway and many more.
The TV shows were have filmed include Mad Men, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, CSI Cyber, Back When We Were Grownups, American Dreams, Judging Amy and the pilot for Disney’s Andi Mack.
Movies filmed here include Raising Helen, A Mighty Wind, Fired Up and the soon to be released Ben Affleck movie, The Way Back. That’s a scene filmed in our upstairs in the photo from the trailer for the movie “The Way Back” It will be in theatres on March 6, 2020.
The thing that has always surprised me about filming is how much they change the look of our home. They have added snow, digitally painted the exterior of our home dark brown, turned our dining room into a bathroom, and painted tons and tons of coats of paint on our walls, to name a few. Fortunately, it’s always been fun. It’s very crazy when 80 people enter your home to get it ready for filming. It is not for the faint of heart, but so far it has always been worth it. And I love it.
Be sure to head to my blog post where I share the filming story of our home. If you think filming at your home might be fun, read this blog post where I share my thoughts about how you can get your home in the movies.
