Holiday House Tour
I love cooking in our kitchen for the holidays whether it is preparing family dinners or cooking for 200 guests for our Christmas party. Today I am sharing how I decorated our kitchen for a Holiday House Tour.
I am thrilled to be a part of a Holiday House Tour and I am so excited to join fifty bloggers as we share rooms in our homes decorated for Christmas every day this week! The tour is coordinated by my friend Krista at The Happy Housie. Be sure and check out her blog! If you are coming here from Home Made Lovely, welcome!
Today I am sharing how I decorated our kitchen for the holidays. The first thing I do every year in our kitchen is to add wreaths in our windows. The fresh evergreen smell is absolutely wonderful and I love it so much.
I found the fresh wreaths with the red bows at The Home Depot. Thye were $9.99 which is the best price I have been able to find for fresh wreaths!
I also added some beaded berries in the windowsill. I love the slight touch of red. These berries match the ones in the windows of my craft room.
I do have to confess that decorating a room for Christmas that is already painted green and has mostly white cupboards is a pretty simple task!
My traditional red and green decor works really well in our kitchen. Of course, I spend a lot of time cooking in our kitchen so I can’t overdo the decor.
On the island, I added some faux florals and filled the wooden box with small bottle brush trees. Aren’t they fun?
Our kitchen decor is simple and yet festive. You don’t have to add a lot of decor to achieve a festive look. This year I am hoping to decorate every room in our home and include them in my holiday house tour. I hope this inspires you to do the same.
Be sure to head on over to see Shelia at Maison de Cinq to see how she decorated her porch!
