Relocating My Craft Room and Office

The first thing I did was make a list of the crafts I create on a regular basis. This included sewing, painting, Cricut projects, Iron Orchid stamp and clay projects, gift wrapping, foil leaf, crepe paper flower making, embroidery, and more.

Next, I uploaded a photo on my phone of the layout of the Dreambox 2 I ordered and planned where to put all of the supplies to create these projects. I color-coded the areas, printed a copy, and started filling in the items that could be stored in each area.

Organizing Your Craft Supplies

The Dreambox 2 takes about 2 – 3 weeks to ship which is a good thing. It gives you time to start organizing your craft supplies!

I suggest you start by decluttering your supplies. Get rid of anything you don’t use or need, and only keep the supplies that you love to use.

This was actually a two-week project for me. Wait, what?

Organize Your Layout and Start Adding Your Supplies

Just so you know, this is the really fun part. Hehe.

Once you know what supplies you’re going to keep, and where you might put them, it’s time to start finalizing your layout. Think about how you use your supplies and what would be the most efficient way to store them.

For example, if you have a lot of small supplies, you might want to use drawers or smaller plastic bins for these items. You have so many choices and you should know I changed a lot of things around as I planned everything.

You might want to decide if you want to add colorful paper to the front of the drawers. If you go to the Create Room website you will notice that a lot of creators add colorful paper to the front of the bins in their Dreambox. The paper looks so good!

But I know myself, and as a creative person, I want to be able to see everything. I didn’t want to hide any of my supplies behind paper and although mine isn’t as pretty, it works best for me.

You also have a choice to label everything. Once you’ve organized your supplies, you might want to label the drawers and containers. This will help you find what you need quickly and easily. I didn’t need to label anything because I can see it all of my supplies (and they are organized by tasks).
