Farmhouse Front Porch Ideas
Winter was here last month, then last week it was spring. This week it’s going to feel like summer. Today I am sharing my new farmhouse front porch ideas… for any season!
As the days get longer and warmer, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about updating your front porch for the summer. Whether you’re looking for some new ideas to help you make the most of your space, or you’re just starting from scratch, these farmhouse front porch ideas are sure to inspire you! So pull up a chair, grab a cold drink, and let’s get started!
The weather has been so unpredictable in Southern California these past few weeks that I have been undecided how to add some farmhouse front porch ideas.
Two weeks ago it was in the 40’s. Last week it was in the high 60″s. Later this week it is going to be 84 degrees.
If you add that I haven’t left our home in like, FOREVER, then you should know that my front porch was looking pretty neglected. (And I should admit that I completely forgot to remove the Christmas wreaths in our second-story windows. I actually forgot they were there.)
DIY Farmhouse Front Porch Wreath
I didn’t have a wreath for our front door so I decided to do some repurposing.
Look how great my new wreath looks!
It’s a bit hard to see, but our front porch looks so much better and welcoming. It’s the perfect Farmhouse front porch decor.
You might remember the eucalyptus wreath from The Home Depot that I added to The Nutcracker Room that I designed on our back porch.
Just so you know, it was hanging on our back fireplace yesterday. I had kind of forgotten about it. So I grabbed it for my DIY project.
I also had our Christmas DIY Wreath that was, um, still hanging on our front door. The fresh pine was brittle and looked really bad.
So I took off the fruit and selected many of the pieces for my wreath project.
How to Make a Winter/Spring/Summer Wreath
I love my eucalyptus wreath. It is so perfect for this project.
I also used some of the beaded fruit, some faux peonies and some pink floral sprigs. (Links to all of these items are listed at the end of this post)
Making this wreath is very easy. I started with the peonies and spaced them out on the wreath. Then I stuck the stems of each flower firmly into the base of the wreath. If you can’t attach them firmly then use some green floral wire.
Next, I added the pink spray flowers. Once again, I pushed them securely into the base of the wreath.
I added the beaded fruit and the wreath was done. All that was left was to hang it on our front door.
I used a pink organza ribbon that I found here.
The copper post on our front porch are from Grandin Road. The links are listed at the bottom of this post.
I used fresh flowers for the pots on our front porch. I used pink primrose, geraniums, and bougainvillea.
To be honest, I haven’t actually planted the plants in my pots. I just placed them carefully in the copper planters.
That is a project for this weekend.
I hope you enjoyed my Farmhouse front porch ideas.
I know I waited a bit too long. but it is was so easy to redo our front porch. I hope this will inspire you to do the same.

I am loving your touches of pink. Valentine’s Day might just have some special meaning to me this year and what better way with this happy color around us. We need it. And hope you are doing okay today with your loss. Thank you for “liking my comment “ the first week of your Sunday chats with us. Can’t wait to hear your Martha story as my husband and I so much loved her Martha Knows Best shows that we had to watch them together.
Thank you Kathy, I am happy to have my mom’s cat Kelly with me, a little piece of my mom. Martha Stewart is such an icon and she continues to evolve and create amazing content!
Great wreath!
Thank you Teddee!

This is so refreshing and bright! Just what the world needs right now.
I’m sorry for your loss—mine is gone too and it’s a cruddy club to belong to but we hold each other up as we totally get that feeling.
I love the paint color and shine on your door. Could you share what color/finish/brand? Thank you! Take care of your heart.
Thank you Dana for the kind words. Yeah, crummy club to be a part of. If you search “paint colors” on my blog, they are all listed containing both color and brand! Take care of your heart also 💕
That wreath is spectacular!
your home is very nice and your work have done is really beautiful. I love love older homes.
I feel pretty uneducated but I like the decorative things that are on top of the planters but I don’t know what they are called and where I can find them.
Beautiful home! Where did you get the ( not sure what you call them?) the grapevine looking domes in your copper pots. They are fabulous!
I enjoyed this post on Martha Stewart so much as I am also a fan. I bought her book, Entertaining, when it first came out, so yes it is a first edition. And, I have enjoyed it ever since. Her ideas and ways of entertaining were so wonderful and new to me as a young woman. She has been the inspiration for the way I entertain to this day!
Hello, Im loving your blog. I want to compliment you that everything is in such good order. Good directions for your crafts, and i appreciate how you list where you purchased.
So nice of you to share. Thank you so much.

I look forward to sitting in the evening and reading and looking at your posts! I love the refreshing colors you use! It’s still too cold here to put real plants out but I can think of silks for a wreath.
Thank you for spreading joy!
