Valentine’s Day and Sunday Morning Coffee

|

For me, Valentine’s Day has always felt like the perfect companion to Sunday Morning Coffee. Both are rooted in reflection, connection, and slowing down.

It’s about noticing the little things. A warm mug in your hands and a handwritten card. A simple breakfast at home and a small gesture that carries meaning. I’m glad we have a few weeks to enjoy the preparation for Valentine’s Day.

Thanks for joining me for Sunday Morning Coffee. This is a place to share, learn, explain, dream, and have fun.

About Me

Valentine’s Day and Sunday Morning Coffee

There’s something about Valentine’s Day that feels softer than most holidays. It isn’t loud or busy. It doesn’t demand big decorations or elaborate plans. It’s gentle, thoughtful, and centered on love in all its forms, romantic love, family love, and the quiet, everyday kind that shows up in small moments.

As a creator, I love how Valentine’s Day inspires creativity without pressure. It’s the kind of holiday that encourages simple beauty. Handmade projects. Thoughtful recipes. Cozy gatherings. Small traditions that feel personal instead of performative.

I’ve always believed that meaningful doesn’t have to mean complicated, and Valentine’s Day is a perfect example of that.

This time of year always pulls me back into making. Crafting. Baking. Creating little moments of beauty around the house. It’s a season that invites warmth and connection in the middle of winter, and I love how naturally it blends into everyday life. You don’t have to host a party or plan something elaborate to celebrate it. Sometimes it’s just about being intentional, with your time, your home, and the people you love.

Sunday Morning Coffee is where I always pause and reflect, and February feels like the perfect time to do just that. To slow down, to look at what matters. To create from a place of joy instead of pressure. And to make things simple, because they make you happy.

Valentine’s Day reminds me that love doesn’t need a grand stage. It lives in small rituals. In handmade things and in shared meals. In quiet mornings and familiar faces. That’s the kind of love I always want to celebrate.

Andrew and his son Graham

Valentine’s Day has a special place in my heart for a very personal reason. Our oldest son, Andrew, was born on Valentine’s Day, which changed February 14th forever, in the very best way. It stopped being just a holiday and became a family milestone, a day that will always be wrapped in gratitude, memory, and love for me.

As a content creator, Valentine’s Day has also become a season of creativity and joy. It has meant creating lots of fun content over the years. Crafts, entertaining ideas, recipes to cook for your valentine, and projects that feel warm, meaningful, and handmade. It’s one of those holidays that naturally fit into everything I love to share.

This year, I’m especially excited for Valentine’s Day, and I’ve already started sharing some of my new ideas. New crafts, new recipes, new projects, and new ways to bring simple beauty into the season. It feels like a fresh start to the year, full of creativity, connection, and heart.

Valentine’s Day will always be more than just a holiday in our home. It’s a reminder of love, family, creativity, and the joy of making memories, both big and small.

My Latest Project

My Latest Project

A craft room with shelves of fabric, a sewing machine, thread spools, a pink cutting machine, and organized storage drawers on a wood floor.

My Newest Creative Project: The WeCreat Vista FlipLaser

Every once in a while, a new tool comes into my life that instantly sparks a thousand ideas. That’s exactly what happened when I received the WeCreat Vista FlipLaser Engraver and Cutter.

And yes, it’s pink, which somehow makes the whole thing even more exciting.

A large cardboard box with a shipping label and a red "fragile" sticker sits on a wooden floor in a bright room with floral and white furniture.

This feels like the beginning of a brand-new creative chapter for me. I’m just getting started, but I already know this machine is going to become one of my favorite tools in my craft room. The ability to cut, engrave, and create custom pieces opens up so many possibilities, not just for crafts, but for holidays, parties, home decor, gifts, and everyday projects around our house.

Did I mention that the Vista even has its own permanent location in my craft room?

What I love most about this kind of tool is how it blends creativity with functionality. This isn’t just about making pretty things. It’s about making meaningful things. Personalized things. Pieces that feel thoughtful and intentional. From custom party decor and holiday projects to engraved serving pieces and handmade gifts, the possibilities feel endless.

A bright craft room with organized shelves holding fabric, a sewing machine on a white desk, and a pink-lidded cutting machine on the countertop.

Right now, I’m in the learning phase, and honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts. Exploring new tools, testing materials, experimenting with designs, and figuring out what’s possible is where creativity really comes alive. I’m excited to learn everything about this machine, how it works, what it can do, and how I can use it to elevate the projects I already love creating.

I’m already dreaming up ideas for holidays and parties. Custom table decor. Personalized place cards. Engraved signs. Holiday ornaments. Special gifts for family and friends. Even everyday pieces, like engraved trays, labeled storage, and custom home accents, can make our spaces feel more personal and special.

Most of all, I’m excited to share the journey. The learning process and the first projects. The mistakes and the wins. And the experiments that work and the ones that don’t. Because that’s where the real fun is. Creativity isn’t just about the finished product. It’s about the process of making.

So consider this the very beginning of a brand-new project series. The “Watch Leslie Figure Out How to Use the WeCreat Vista Laser Engraving Machine“. I’m just getting started, and I’m so excited to take you along for everything that’s coming next.
