It’s almost June first and summer is right around the corner. Today I am sharing my four tips to help you get your backyard ready for summer.
It’s almost June and a lot of us are thinking about summer. A time to get outdoors, enjoy the sun, and relax. Today I am going to share my tips on how to get your backyard ready for summer.
I think a lot of us are looking forward to spending more time outdoors. For me personally, I just want a place where my family can be together, be comfortable, and enjoy the outdoors.
I love our backyard. And this year, we have spent more time in our pool than ever. But as inviting as our pool is, there was nowhere to sit! I realized we needed some chaise lounges and perhaps a table for dining.
I partnered with Arhaus and added the items we needed to get our backyard ready for summer. You might remember that last summer we added a lot of the items from the Arhaus Hamptons Collection on our back porch.
All of these items at our pool are from the Arhaus Montego Outdoor Collection. Featuring a refined, traditional aesthetic, the Montego collection was designed with clean lines and no-fuss styling. I love it and it works perfectly at our pool.
The Montego Outdoor Furniture Collection is aluminum and comes in either slate or blanc. They have seventy-five colors of cushions available and I chose the stock color (white/blanc) to match our home. The Montego Collection has twenty-one different pieces which are all amazing,
Four Tips to Get Your Backyard Ready for Summer
In order to get our backyard ready for a long summer, I realized there were four things I needed to consider. I am sharing these with you today. You don’t have to do all four, just decide which one is the most important and start there.
Create a Place Where You Can Relax
With no place to sit, there wasn’t anywhere near our pool to relax. This was the most important problem I hoped to solve in our backyard so I picked out these four amazing Montego outdoor chaises in slate from Arhaus. Now I can relax out here any time during the day.
With four of us living at home right now, these chaises are perfect. I actually took a nap out here the first day they arrived!
Provide Lots of Shade
As much as we all love the warmth of the sun, shade is an absolute must!
I added an Outdoor Octagonal Umbrella which is the perfect size and offers a lot of shade. It also tilts to provide shade as the sun moves throughout the day. Your outdoor space isn’t complete until you’ve included the ideal shade solution for dining areas or seating arrangements. The Arhaus Outdoor umbrellas are sturdy, easy to operate, and feature durable easy-care high-performance outdoor fabrics that stand up to the elements season after season.
I love how easy the umbrella is to operate as well.
Have a Place to Dine Outdoors
I love having different places to dine in our backyard. so adding a poolside table was a must.
There is no doubt this table and chairs will get a lot of use next to our pool.
I have decided that this is going to be my new lunch spot. How great is this?
Of course, I am also going to host a small dinner out here for my family as soon as possible!
Get Away From the Heat
We are lucky in Southern California as our summer weather is warm but still mild. We rarely have humidity and even the bugs are manageable. But, regardless of where you live, you always want to be able to get out of the heat.
We put a pool in our backyard about twelve years ago. I wanted it to match our home so I used the same bricks that matched the patio on the back of our home. There is no doubt the pool gives us a break from the heat. So what do you do without a pool?
Some options include a misting system, a stock tank pool, water toys for the kids such as a slip and slide, and good old fashioned sprinklers. Of course, ceiling fans are great too.
Whatever you do, just make sure you have a way to stay cool.
Now that our backyard is ready for the summer, I cannot wait to spend lots of time out here.
