Fifteen years ago I made this DIY advent calendar. I liked it so much that I made five more to give to each member of my family. This is one of the most treasured Christmas decorations I own as it represents so many holiday memories of our family! And it is the perfect Christmas gift.

I was so excited when I found twenty red and green vintage books this month while shopping at flea markets and vintage junktion. I used them last week when I decorated my bookshelves for Christmas. I am so happy I came up with a fun way to use the books as my centerpiece.
It’s fun to decorate mantles, tables, trees, and windows for the Christmas holiday. But what about places that aren’t typically dressed out in décor? Like bookshelves?
