Poolside Drinks – Avocado Margarita Recipe
I know what you are thinking. This drink sounds gross. Who would ever want to drink an avocado margarita? But you are so wrong. You have got to trust me on this. It’s really good. My avocado margarita recipe is delicious.
Today I joined up with some other bloggers and we are sharing poolside drinks. Apparently, this was supposed to be a pink poolside drink blog post. Obviously, I was confused. Well, I guess I will be the rebel on this one. I decided the drink was more important than the color. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to see some really delicious pink poolside drinks. And one really yummy green one too.
I had my first avocado margarita in Austin and absolutely loved it. I think I like them best well blended (instead of chunky). I was a bit apprehensive about what they would taste like and my expectations were not high. But they are thick and cold and wonderfully refreshing.
What You Need to Make an Avocado Margarita
The ingredients are pretty simple. To make one blender of margaritas, all you need are:
1/2 cup Tequila
1/4 cup Cointreau
2 cups of ice
I can frozen limeade
Two medium sized fresh avocados
1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro
Juice from two Meyer lemons or limes
2 tsp lemon/lime grind
1/2 cup beer
Water as needed
Mix the avocados and cilantro in the blender. Add the remaining ingredients and as much water as necessary to get the desired thickness. Serve immediately.
It’s up to you to decide if you want to use fresh Meyer lemons or limes. Most people like limes but I am a huge meyer lemon fan. So I use Meter lemons in everything. Seriously!
You can also line your glasses with salt or sugar. I know salt is bad for you but I really do love salt on my margarita glass.
So it is time for my confession. I made this margarita recipe and drink at 8:30 in the morning, And I just might have tasted a lot of this drink. At 8:30 in the morning. I pretended it was a smoothie. With a salted rim.
It was delicious.
Here are the amazing pink drinks created by my friendly blogger friends. Every single one of these would taste amazing poolside. Even the green one!

It’s got to be delicious. All my favorite things. Margarita plus avocado plus 1/2 cup tequila!! I can hardly wait to try it.
I’m not a margarita fan believe it or not. I’m sure it’s good. Hopefully by 8:45 you weren’t walking into furniture 😅
