If you follow my blog or read my posts on Instagram then you probably know I have been wanting to redo our family room. Our family room is located right off the kitchen and it’s where we spend a lot of time.
As you know I love to shop at Flea Markets. Since I live in Southern California I have learned the most unique and best-priced items are usually found at a large show and not necessarily at antique stores.
One of my favorite ways to spend a weekend morning is at an antique flea market. I have shared my thoughts about how to shop at flea markets in a previous post. I try to go to as many as I can because but I think all flea markets are great. You just need to know what to look for!
Now that the project room is finished (well, kind of), it is time for my first project. One thing I have been wanting to do for a long time is to figure out to use my Silhouette Cameo machine. The Silhouette was a wonderful Christmas present from my husband and I just hadn’t blocked out the time to figure out what to make and how to make it. The time is finally here….

After shopping everywhere for pillows, I decided to make my own. I wasn’t happy with the fabric selection of the ready-made pillows and the prices were crazy (ranging from $35 – $90). After a quick trip to the Ventura flea market, the fabric store (Joann’s) and IKEA (for down pillow inserts) I was all set.
