Decadent Ice Cream Truffle Oreo Desserts

Happy Oreo Cookie Month!
It certainly deserves celebrating because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t adore Oreos? Whether you love to twist them apart, dunk them in milk, or eat them by the handful, Oreos are a beloved classic that deserves their day of honor.
Why Oreo Cookies Are Worth Celebrating

Before we dive into this delicious Oreo dessert recipe, let’s take a moment to appreciate the Oreo itself. The Oreo cookie was invented in 1912 and has been America’s favorite cookie for over a century. Each year on March 6th, Oreo Cookie Day reminds us of our love for this iconic cookie. It’s a day for indulging in Oreo-themed desserts, treats, and creative recipes, celebrating this simple yet magical little cookie.
Today, I decided to take my Oreo appreciation to new heights by creating Oreo Ice Cream Truffles served elegantly in martini glasses—because if you’re going to celebrate, you might as well do it with flair!

Oreo Dessert Ice Cream Truffles Recipe

These Oreo Ice Cream Truffles are irresistibly delicious, wonderfully simple, and impressive. They’re the perfect blend of creamy ice cream and crunchy Oreo cookies dipped in chocolate for a decadent treat that tastes like it belongs in a gourmet dessert shop.
Ingredients:
- 1 pint cookies-and-cream (Oreo) ice cream, softened slightly
- 20 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (helps smooth chocolate coating)
- Extra crushed Oreos or sprinkles for garnish
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Make the Ice Cream Truffle Base

Start by lining a baking tray with parchment paper. Scoop small portions (about one tablespoon each) of Oreo ice cream onto the prepared tray. Quickly shape each portion into a ball, then freeze for at least 2 hours (overnight is best) to set completely.
Step 2: Chocolate Coating

Once the truffles are firm, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in short 30-second increments and stirring until smooth.
Step 2: Dip & Coat

Dip each frozen truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork, spoon, or dipping tool. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place each coated truffle back onto the parchment-lined tray.
Quickly sprinkle crushed Oreos or colorful sprinkles onto each truffle while the chocolate is wet.
Step 3: Freeze to Set

Place the coated Oreo Ice Cream Truffles back in the freezer until the chocolate is completely hardened (at least one hour).
Serving Idea: Oreo Dessert Ice Cream Truffle Martinis

What truly makes this Oreo dessert spectacular is how you present it. Serving these truffles in a martini or cocktail glass takes them to the next level, transforming a simple treat into a stunning dessert that looks just like an elegant cocktail!
Here’s how to serve your Oreo Ice Cream Truffles martini-style:
- Prepare your martini or cocktail glasses by dipping the rim into melted chocolate, then immediately dipping into crushed Oreo crumbs. Allow the chocolate-covered rim to set in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
- Place two or three Oreo Ice Cream Truffles in each glass.
- Add a small scoop of cookies and cream or vanilla ice cream around the truffles to create a smooth and creamy base.
- Drizzle generously with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or even raspberry coulis.
- Garnish with fresh berries, an edible flower, or mini Oreo cookies perched on the rim.
- For extra flair, insert a thin chocolate wafer or a decorative straw into the glass, mimicking a cocktail stirrer.
The result? A gorgeous dessert that looks chic and sophisticated, with all the fun of a fancy cocktail—minus the alcohol!
Celebrating Oreo Cookie Month

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Oreo Cookie Month than with these beautiful Oreo Ice Cream Truffle desserts. Whether you enjoy them solo, with your family, or host a gathering with friends, these treats are sure to impress.
And if you want to embrace the Oreo theme, consider setting up a little Oreo dessert bar:
- Arrange bowls filled with different flavored Oreos.
- Serve small glasses of milk or milk-based cocktails.
- Set out fun toppings like sprinkles, crushed Oreos, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and fresh fruit.
It’s the ultimate Oreo-inspired experience that guests of all ages will adore.

Creating and styling these Oreo Ice Cream Truffles was incredibly easy and fun. It reminded me how a simple twist on presentation can elevate an everyday dessert into something extraordinary.
Oreo Cookie Month comes once a year, but I might keep this celebration going year-round. After all, Oreos are timeless, delicious, and universally loved—what better excuse to keep the celebrations going?
