Farmhouse Christmas Decor in the Family Room

| |

We finished decorating the house and this week I am going to be sharing every room. I love the farmhouse Christmas decor in the family room.

I am not sure why but I always decorate our family room first! I knew this is where I would put most of our Farmhouse Christmas decor and it just always looks so festive. And I love it!

When I decorate the family room it is kind of divided into two parts: the seating area and the dining area.

The Family Area

There is no doubt this is the area in the back of our family room where our sectional creates a wonderful seating area.

I have to be careful that I don’t add too much decor because this is where we live! And if the coffee table was full there would be nowhere to put our reading books, laptops, water glasses, and feet! Hehe.

Although I do love Christmas coffee table decor. don’t you?

The Dining Area

I love setting holiday tables and this one has lots of suggestions for our pomegranate theme. We used three different types of china, the white pine cone trees I made last year, the clay molded candlestick DIY I made in my book, and some of my favorite glassware.

You can see all of the pomegranates we used on the talbe. Aren’t they fun and just so colorful?

You can see the plates below. I love layering them on top of a bright red charger.

I really like the artwork I selected for my Frame TV. It’s not specifically for Christmas but I think it works perfectly!

Farmhouse Christmas Decor Old and New

I mixed in a lot of vintage and new decor in the family room. The green bottles, glass jar, and lunchbox are vintage. Do you know what we store in the lunchbox? We store our remote controls and reading glasses inside. I love having a place to hide them!

All of the Christmas balls and pomegranates are new, as are the white trees on the side table in the back.

Just so you know, I set this table for the photo but I don’t keep it set all of the time. This is our everyday dining area and we need an open table to enjoy our meals all day long!

I did leave the centerpiece on the table but cleared everything else. I moved the clay-molded trees to the kitchen.

A Festive Family Room

When I decorate a room I love to create layers of decor. In the photo below you can see the books tied with ribbons and tall white trees in the back and the items on the coffee table in front.

  1. I love your pomegranate theme, and your family area is lovely. I don’t leave my tables set during the day either – the dining room is one of our main places to hang out, and I”m putting stuff on the table all day! 🙂 Love your TV picture too. I’m tempted to get one of those just for the artwork. Thanks for the inspiration – I’m looking forward to the rest of your holiday rooms!
