Cupcakes with a Yummy Center

What makes these cupcakes one of the best cupcake recipes?

These delicious cupcakes have a runny caramel center in the cupcake and frosting with a slight cream cheese taste! The cupcake batter tastes like Snickerdoodles and has a delicious cinnamon taste. How perfect does that sound?

Just delicious!

Look how great these cupcakes looked after I took them out of the oven.

The salted caramel sauce was easy to make. I just melted caramel candies with cream and added a bit of salt.

Next, I made a small hole in the center of each cupcake. (I used an apple core tool!) Be sure to remove the cake only 3/4 of the way down the cupcake.

Then, fill each cupcake hole with the salted caramel sauce.

Don’t these look amazing? I love that the caramel centers are a surprise. By now, you should know this is the best cupcake recipe ever!

In one bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.

Using an electric mixer, mix the butter in a bowl until fluffy. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream and mix until fluffy again, about one minute.

Gently fold the butter mixture into the dry ingredients.

  1. These sound and look delicious. You had me at Snickerdoodle and caramel. I have made pretty much every dessert there is but never cupcakes. Not once and funny thing, I love them.

  2. The directions are confusing for the batter. I’m supposed to mix the butter with cream cheese until fluffy?

  3. I have tried twice to make these and thought because my sour cream and eggs were too cold that they would not blend with the butter but even on the second try with room temperature ingredients they will not meld. I will proceed on without fluffy sour cream/eggs etc. and see what happens.

    1. Hmmm. I put my butter in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it and then mixed them easily. How did the cupcakes come out?

      1. With both attempts the sour cream did not blend but on the second go I added the dry ingredients, mixed it well, and they came out great. They are delicious for sure!!!

  4. Oh. My. Gosh! I just want to sink my teeth into these cupcakes. These are absolutely fab! I’m definitely saving the recipe for later.
