The Back Porch Makeover – Part One
It’s almost summer and I have been thinking long and hard that it is time to spruce up our back porch. I love this area and would like to spend more time out here. We are lucky that we can use our covered porch all year round. Since we live in Southern California the weather is nice pretty much all of the time. Summer nights are really pleasant (and we don’t have any bugs to speak of). We don’t get much rain (although this year we had more rain in one year than the last five combined). Winter evenings can be cool, but since the porch has a wood-burning fireplace and heaters in the ceiling, it stays pretty comfortable in the winter. I put up drapes a few years ago so if it’s chilly (which is about twenty days a year) then we can close them to keep the heat in.
So what are my thoughts for our porch makeover?

Also, I wanted to take a moment to thank not only the soldiers who we remember this weekend but also their families who go through their own battle while their loved ones are away. Thank you for keeping us safe. Thank you for doing what you do so that we can do what we do here in America.

Look forward to seeing the fruits of your labor!
Can’t wait to see more pictures. I love the realism of a work in progress. Good job!
