A Spring Refresh at our Airbnb Waco Home
Last week I embarked on a mission to infuse our beloved Airbnb Waco home with fresh, vibrant spring decor.
For three days, armed with a sage green color palette and a vision of cozy elegance, I refreshed our space as a sanctuary for guests to enjoy. Here’s a detailed look into my spring decor refresh journey.
Our Airbnb Waco Home Refresh
Spring is the season of renewal and rejuvenation, a time when nature awakens in a burst of color and life. Inspired by this, I recently traveled to Waco, Texas to infuse our beloved Airbnb Waco home with a fresh, vibrant spring decor.
Over the course of three days, armed with a sage green color palette and a vision of cozy elegance, I updated our space as a sanctuary for guests to enjoy.
Here’s a detailed look into my spring decor refresh journey.
The Vision and Preparation
We bought our Waco home five years ago and after a year-long remodel it was listed as a rental on Airbnb and VRBO. For rental information, click here.
My goal last week was to create a refreshed serene and welcoming atmosphere reflecting spring’s rejuvenating essence. I carefully selected new decor items, including pillow covers, florals, a rug, a front door wreath, and materials for a handmade love seat cushion. I ordered everything from Amazon for convenience and efficiency.
The Airbnb Waco Home Living Area Transformation
The living area is the heart of the home, a place where guests gather and unwind. To enhance its comfort and style, I ordered four pairs of pillow covers in harmonizing shades, a cozy sage green throw, and plush new pillow inserts.
The change immediately lifted the room, making it more inviting and cohesive.
On this blog, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means a small commission is earned if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.
The Loveseat Cushion Debacle
A unique challenge presented itself with the love seat cushion. A well-meaning guest had attempted to wash the original cushion cover, leading to a series of mishaps that left the cushion unusable.
Undeterred, I borrowed a sewing machine, bought foam and fabric that closely matched the original, and set to work.
I crafted a new cushion, complete with a zipper for easy removal. It was a labor of love that involved cutting the 4″ foam insert with an electric knife (which was a surprisingly effective method), resulting in a perfectly sized cushion that restored the love seat to its former comfort and appeal.
And yes, I had to buy the electric knife too!
Floral Flourishes and Eucalyptus Accents
To breathe new life into our Airbnb Waco home, I ordered a variety of faux flowers and crafted three new arrangements, placing them around the house.
The kitchen island became a focal point of beauty, the dining room table was graced with spring’s charm, and the primary bedroom received a touch of floral elegance.
Additionally, I hung three eucalyptus wreaths in the living area. Their subtle fragrance and greenery add a layer of tranquility and connection to nature.
Kitchen and Bathroom Updates
In the kitchen, new towels were added to bring in a fresh palette and a touch of practical beauty. The bathrooms received a similar treatment with new mats on the floors, enhancing both comfort and style.
These seemingly small changes contributed significantly to the overall feel of the house, making each space more welcoming and aligned with the spring theme.
The Bedroom Oasis
The primary bedroom transformation was anchored by my favorite Loloi rug, that perfectly complemented the sage green theme.
This rug not only brought warmth and texture to the room but also served as a stunning visual anchor, tying together all the elements of the spring refresh.
More Decor Favorites
I wanted to share a few more of my favorite areas in our Airbnb Waco home. The coffee station is highlighted by a crib mattress spring on the wall. Our guest comment cards are held in a vintage general store ledger.
And my favorite table in the living room has lots of fun decor items I bought many years ago at the Round Top vintage show.
Reflections on the Airbnb Waco Home Spring Refresh
Looking back on the whirlwind three days spent transforming our Waco Airbnb, I am filled with a sense of accomplishment and joy. The sage green spring palette brought a sense of calm and renewal to the home, reflecting the essence of the season.
The DIY projects, particularly the love seat cushion, added a personal touch that I hope will be appreciated by all who stay here.
This spring refresh was more than just an update. It was a labor of love, a testament to the power of thoughtful design and personal effort in creating a space that welcomes and embraces.
I am delighted with the end result. Our Airbnb Waco home not only looks refreshed and vibrant but also feels even more like a sanctuary for our guests.
By bringing a piece of spring’s rejuvenation into our Airbnb, we’ve created a space that reflects the beauty of the season and the warmth and hospitality that is the heart of hosting.
As the season progresses, I look forward to seeing the joy and relaxation our guests find in this carefully curated space.

Hi Leslie,
So cute and cozy! Good to know about the electric knife!
Hey your ads are popping up/running through your content.
It is hard to view the home. Maybe there is a setting to minimize.
Happy First Day of Spring!
Laura
Hi Laura! Thanks so much. Since it’s free content there’s not a whole lot I can do about the ads unfortunately 😕 hope some day that can change!
Hope you got my comments about so many ads
The ads really do distract from your wonderful blogs. We will still watch every day for your presentations. Have a great day
It’s such a bummer but there’s not a whole lot to do about it :/ I’m glad you’re still with us Heidi! ☺️
