Discovering Inspiration for a Room

#AD This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Corian® Design. The opinions and text are all mine.

Finding inspiration when decorating a room is something we all struggle with. Inspiration comes from colors, fabrics, and furnishings to help us plan the decor in a room. But for many of us, the process can be overwhelming. Especially since there a lot of other factors that influence how we decorate a room.

I recently found a really cool tool from Corian® Design that can make this design process easier. Corian® Design is more than just a countertop material brand: it is a source of inspiration for architects, designers, and homeowners around the world. They have recently introduced the Corian® Design Moodboard Maker which is a website that allows designers and homeowners to create a unique inspiration board for a room.

Let’s look at the kitchen in our beach house as an example. I am going to use the Corian® Design Moodboard Maker website to show you everything that influenced me when I designed our kitchen.

Let me show you how to use the Corian® Design Moodmaker Board. First, you will want to gather some inspiration photos that you want to use for your room. In addition to tile and paint colors, here are some of the photos that influenced my choices for our kitchen. They were all taken near our beach home.

Let’s start by going to www.corianmoodmaker.com. You will see this screen.

You will see all of the different styles you can choose from to make your Moodboard. I chose RELAXED because I think that best describes our “vibe” at the beach!

Next, you will see an empty mosaic shape. The first thing you need to do is select a Corian swatch that works with your design. I chose Modern White.

Then you can start adding all of your design inspiration photos. Just upload them into the program and drag them over.

Here is my final design.

Once you are done you can download the design to your computer or camera roll on your phone. You can even share it on your social networks. You can also order, directly from the site, a framed print of your inspirational mosaic. Then you can have, a modern piece of art with all of the inspirations that influenced you hanging in the room!

I love how our kitchen turned out and I can’t wait to use this tool for my next design project!

Be sure to head over to the Corian® Design Moodboard Maker to try it out! #corianmoodboardmaker
