It’s been such an incredible week as I spent five days in Waco at our Airbnb. While I was there I toured the Magnolia Market, bought lots of things for our home at the Magnolia Shop on Bosque and “de Christmassed” our home. I also painted and hung two abstract paintings, made tissue paper cherry blossoms from branches cut in our backyard, reorganized three cabinets, baked french bread and spent a lot of time with my friends Amy from Cutertudor and Kimberlee from The Morrow House. As I was leaving Texas I had an amazing lunch with my dear friend Karianne from Thistlewood Farms. You really need to check out these three amazing ladies!

My biggest accomplishment for the week was successfully managing the Waco Airbnb permit process. We had some hoops to jump through but we did it! Beginning on Wednesday, January 22nd, our Waco home will be available for bookings on Airbnb and VRBO. I am so happy that I finally get to share our home with others!

I started out this week by sharing a DIY for making Cherry Blossom Branches. The blossoms are made out of tissue paper and attached to apple branches with a glue gun. I am so happy so many of you tried this DIY! If you share make or bake one of my DIY’s, share it on your stories and tag me, I will always try to share you on my stories!

I shared some of my Best Instagram Tips and the response was amazing! I honestly think if you want to grow your Instagram then this is a great way to start. 

What’s New in The Family Room

I loved my time in Waco. It was a really busy week and my assistant Kelly and I got so much done!  We spent a lot of time on our computers, reorganized, ran all over town, shopped, and spent a lot of time brainstorming. Our few days together were amazing! And I loved every minute of it.

Back at home, the cleaning and organizing projects underway in our home. This week I need to finish the redo of our backyard and third floor. We are hosting a Celebration of Life on Sunday for Dave’s dad and we want the house to be perfect. Dave’s parents sold this house to us in 1998 and we want it to look it’s best for this important day.

Every Wednesday I share a wonderful round-up of posts for Easy Elegance Wednesday. This week I shared a DIY to make Metallic Clay Hearts. They are inspired by the metallic lockets I had as a kid.

I shared one of my favorite all-time Valentine DIY’s. I love this Valentine Decor Flower Crate using a wooden crate, flowered paper napkins, and lots of glue.

While I was in Waco I made homemade french bread. As shocking as this may seem, this was my first attempt at making yeast bread. I am not sure why it took me so long but the result was amazing! My blog post How to Make Bread features a great recipe that is very easy to follow.

Looking Out the Front Door

Next week on the blog I will be sharing the new abstract art I painted for our Waco home, my new Royal Icing 101 discovery, A DIY of Fabric Valentine Hearts, and a fun Valentine Pillow. Chef Monique will be cooking in my kitchen on Friday and we will be making pies. I cannot wait to learn how to master the perfect pie crust recipe.
