How to Use Spring Florals in Your Decor

how to make paper flowers

A few months ago I taught myself how to make crepe paper flowers. I bought a few books, watched a gazillion videos, bought some supplies, and started making paper flowers. It was that easy! And now I am obsessed. Now I use spring florals in my decor.

Why do I like making these crepe paper flowers so much? I think it’s because they look real. And the colors are wonderful. I discovered pan pastels and they really enhance the colors.

The flowers above are paper poppies. The ones below are paper peonies. Click here for my video on how to make a crepe paper poppy flower.

Today I have joined up with six other bloggers to share some of our favorite blog posts about flowers. Some are paper (of course), some are real, some are painted, and some you can eat. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to see these amazing posts.

I have shared a lot of tutorials on how to make these flowers. I use my Cricut cutting machine a lot but just so you know, all of the flowers here were cut with scissors. And it was easy. I am currently making 150 paper flowers for my son’s rehearsal dinner and yes, I did use the Cricut because that wonderful machine saved me hours of cutting time!

I love that these flowers are easy to make and that they last a very long time.

  1. If you hadn’t mentioned that these gorgeous flowers were made by you, I’d think that they were natural. They’re so pretty and the color is so vivid and I’m sure every space would look stunning and more cheerful with them inside. Although I’m a fan of natural greenery, after reading this, I think I’m going to try to make my own and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing!
