How to Make a Charcuterie Board
Lately, I have been a bit obsessed with Charcuterie boards. There are so many different boards you can create as I have seen them range from cookies to cheese to lots of great appetizers. Today I am going to share how to make a charcuterie board. I have also joined some of my blogger friends who have created a lot of fabulous Charcuterie Boards. Be sure to scroll down to the end to see all of their wonderful ideas.
According to Web Restaurant Store, Charcuterie is a branch of cooking involving prepared meats, such as ham, sausage, bacon, confit, or other pork products. While the original French translation refers to pork, modern charcuterie boards can include other types of food, such as duck, goose, chicken, cheese, toast, fruit, or other options.
I made this Charcuterie board for Father’s Day as an appetizer. I included red, orange and yellow peppers, tomatoes, carrots, pistachio nuts, cherries, grapes, cucumbers, broccoli, and two types of hummus.
While most traditional Charcuterie boards are served on a board, you can actually use whatever you want. I found this vintage board in Round Top Texas that is 40″ long. To start, I covered the board with romaine lettuce.
Next, I added all types of veggies and fruits which I found in my refrigerator.
I added toothpicks to the tomatoes to make it much easier for dipping.
When you cut the vegetables, remember you want to cut them thick so they are easy to dip in the hummus or dip.
I love mixing fruits and vegetables. You might also want to include cheese and meats. I wanted a vegan board so I left them out.
I thought it would be fun to include some pistachios but I wasn’t sure how to serve them. I made some cones out of craft paper and put them in a few flower frogs to hold them upright. They worked perfectly.
Everyone loved the Charcuterie Board as most everything was gone by the time we sat down for dinner.
Here are the amazing Charcuterie boards created by my friends. Aren’t they fabulous! Be sure to check them out.

This looks not only yummy but pretty with all the colors. I love these boards. I love cheese so that is a must for me.
The pistachios were cute wrapped in craft paper.

Love this! Those pistachios are huge! Are they local to your area?
This is great and all but what I thought this article would be about was making the actual board. 🤔
Pretty and Yummy! perfect summer snack by the pool or just visiting with family/friends.
Charcuterie goals! Beautiful presentation and I especially love using your flower frogs! Inspired.
I immediately recognized the bubble glass bowls! I collect this pattern, too.
Really beautiful presentation! By definition though, charcuterie is a variety of meat, so there’s no such thing as a vegan charcuterie. You made a beautiful crudite board. I love the way the lettuce kind of spills off the sides, making the presentation more flowy and not so blockish. Great job!
What a great idea Leslie to use the wooden picks for the dipping. Love that! Happy to join you my friend!
Beautiful! Love that 40″ board. I really need to take a road trip to Round Top!!
I love your vegetarian board! Such a great way to sneak in all those veggies! 🙂
