Summer Outdoor Dining Ideas

I don’t need to tell you how much I love outdoor dining. Today, I created a new table with a fun summer color palette.

There is something so special about sitting around a table outside. Fresh air, food, and the way the conversation and laughter hover around the table and float away like a balloon. I love the color aqua, and I thought it might be fun to create a summer outdoor dining table on our back patio. I ran to Trader Joe’s for flowers and put this table together in less than an hour.

Outdoor Dining Colors

Since I have been spending a lot of time at the beach house these past few months, I decided to bring the beach house feeling to our home and create an excellent aqua-themed table. Why not bring the colors of the beach to our home in Pasadena?

I cannot believe it took me this long to realize how stunning an aqua-themed table would look in our backyard. I love this view of my table overlooking the backyard. It’s an effortless table and as you know, simple is my favorite way to decorate.

Arranging Flowers for My Outdoor Dining Table

I love how the flowers turned out for our outdoor dining table.

As usual, I bought them at Trader Joe’s. Going into it, I knew I wouldn’t use the primary color in my flower arrangement. I mean, who wants aqua flowers in their arrangement, right? So when I arrived at the store, I knew I wanted predominantly green with a bit of white.

How about that vase? It is a vintage battery jar that I bought at a vintage sale. I own a few clear ones, and I love the aqua color of this battery jar!

The flowers were effortless to arrange and did not take long at all. Maybe 15 minutes total to arrange?

• One – Here are the flowers I bought at Trader Joe’s. I bought about 75% green and 25% white flowers. I had no plans and knew I wouldn’t look for aqua flowers, so white and green seemed a good idea.
• two – I filled the battery jar with water and added greenery.
• three – I just kept adding greenery and loved the variety of choices I could find at the grocery store.
• 4 – Don’t laugh, but this was my last photo of my flower-arranging lesson. Sometimes, I zone out and forget to stop and take pictures. Oh well, all I did was add green stems and the white flowers at the end. It was pretty straightforward, I promise.

Setting the Dining Table

I used some of my favorite vintage aqua pieces that I used to have at our beach house. The aqua spritzers are amazing, and I love them. Looking closely, you can see the vintage jars filled with all the sea glass I collected on the Ventura beaches.

My favorite sea glass colors to collect are white, green, and aqua. Sea glass is abundant on the beaches, and I love hunting for it. It’s so relaxing.

The placemats and napkins are eight years old, but I made a few recommendations below. The dishes are Sophie Conran, and I love the color so much. The polka-dot glasses are so much fun to add to any table.
