The last three years have been a wonderful journey on Instagram. Today I am sharing some of my tips on how to help you grow your Instagram.
I guess you could say I have a love/hate relationship with Instagram. Most days I love Instagram. I love that it provides me with a place to share what I love to do. I love that it provides a platform where I can earn a great living, I also love that it has introduced me to so many amazing people. Instagram has given me so many new opportunities and enabled me to have the best job in the world.
Let’s face it. Social media can be brutal. Sadly it is pretty cutthroat in some communities. But what about the home decor community? Not even close. The home decor community does an incredible job showing gratitude on Instagram every day. And there a few things you can do every day to help make it even better.
In the spring of last year, Instagram did away with their chronological feed and replaced it with an algorithm that ranks posts based on engagement (likes and comments). The good news to this is that the images you now see at the top of your feed are more likely to be interesting. The bad news is that your posts could be easily buried if you don’t inspire enough engagement right off the bat. The truth is, no matter how good your content, it won’t get very far if you post it at the wrong time.
Last week I filmed (and saved) an Instagram story on my phone just before I left for the airport to head to Atlanta for the Haven Conference. My intention was to post it the following morning an hour before the video expired. (You all know Instagram Stories has a 24 hour limit on the age of a video.)
