Now that our remodeled beach house has been done for a year, I wanted to remind you all that no remodel ever goes perfectly.

Things happen.

You all know how much I love our newly remodeled beach house.

I cannot believe how much better it is than I ever imagined, and every time we visit, I have to pinch myself.

Ninety-nine percent of the remodeling experience was wonderful, and I am so thankful to our contractor, who helped us complete this project.

But sometimes, bloggers and social media creators forget to mention that nothing is perfect—especially during a remodel!

So, let’s share some of the surprises.

Me and my mom almost 38 years ago.

And I did make my wedding gown. I promise it took a lot more time than the wedding gown cookies I made last month.

Especially since I had appliquéd hundreds of pearls on that lace!

And yes, I know you can buy lace that already had pearls on it. But you know me!

I am so young in this photo it is hard to look at!

Happy Mother’s Day!

As I celebrate the memory of my mother today, I can’t help but reflect on the lessons my mother taught me.

My mother is no longer here to celebrate with me, but I am content to honor her memory with my family.

My life has been an incredible journey filled with women who have inspired me.

This picture is one of my favorites: my two sisters, my two sisters-in-law, and me!

These four “sisters” of mine are the best moms and aunts!

My sisters and I made gorgeous centerpieces for my niece’s wedding.

I can’t wait to show you these affordable summer wedding flowers.

There are a lot of ways to make summer wedding flowers.

And with a little bit of planning, you can make a lot.

We made 30 centerpieces that were affordable and turned out beautifully.

Most importantly, we had fun along the way!
