August was a tough month. It’s was often 100 degrees outside while I was trying to decorate for fall. I struggle with this every year and this year I decided to ease into fall decor as gracefully as I could.
So what did I love about August?
I did create mood boards for Fall and the Holidays. I decided my color theme for fall would be copper and I have already introduced a few really fun copper ideas.
We love to entertain so I planned two dinner parties for our family. One was in the backyard and the other was on the beach in Ventura. Both were amazing and really fun. I also shared an entertaining DIY which is something a few of you have been waiting over a year to see.
I also teamed up with some of my favorite bloggers for the Makeover in a Month Challenge and spent thirty days redoing our third floor bedroom. The final reveal is on September 1st.
August was a month for crafts as I shared five DIYs. I do think a few of these are my best craft ideas ever.

Makeover in a Month
I thought it might be fun to get together some blogging friends to do a Makeover Challenge. We all decided to redo one room during the month of August. I chose to redo our third floor bedroom which to bee honest, needed a lot of work.
So what did I do? I painted the bedroom, added a feature wall, put in new lighting, drapes and a rug. I redid the bookcases and added all new furniture from Bed, Bath and Beyond.
I also made a slipcover and painted an abstract painting. We are sharing our completed rooms on September 1st. I cannot wait.
