I love decorating our home for summer. Today I am sharing decorating ideas in our summer kitchen and back porch. I hope you like them.

I am so excited to share a new summer refresh in our home. I love these decorating ideas for our summer kitchen.

Our Summer Kitchen

Since summer will be here this week, I am sharing two rooms in our home, our kitchen and our outdoor covered patio. I will start out by sharing the most popular room in our home, our kitchen.

Re-Organizing the Kitchen

Every seasonal refresh always starts out with reorganizing. At least in my house, it does. That’s probably because I always need to do more organizing. As in all of the time!

Everything we went through last year and all of the time spent at home has led me to want less clutter. This isn’t just in our kitchen, but in every room in my house. I started out by moving things around and not only does it look better but I needed more counter space for cooking.  The biggest change was that I moved almost all of my countertop appliances into the butler’s pantry.

Funny thing though. Why do we need three different coffee makers to make coffee? Seriously.

Kitchen Decorating Ideas

Whenever I do a refresh, I like to pick a main accent color to use throughout our home. Last year I used orange and pink.

This summer I am going with pink. Again! As a mother of three boys and a dog named Sport, there isn’t a lot of pink in our home.

So it’s time for another summer of pink.

I started by replacing the bowl on my island with some peaches. And yes, they are faux. But I love them!

Next, I added some fresh peonies on the island. I put them in one of my vintage battery jar vases.

Next, I added some pink hydrangeas on the counter. I put them in a white vintage tin canister.

This is where all of the coffee makers use to sit on our counter. I think it looks a lot better now. Actually, I know it looks a lot better now.

I realize it’ss not a ton of new decor. But when you have a working kitchen, you can’t have a lot of decor.

Decorating Ideas for the Back Porch

Just outside of our kitchen is our back porch. I thought it might be fun to add some more pink out there too.

Now that the weather is warmer, we are starting to eat out here almost every night.

Summer on the Patio

After this past year it appears that I own a lot of pink items. Which explains why all of the items I used to set this table were already in our butler’s pantry.

The flowers are from the grocery store. I styled them for a dinner party and they still look great! And they seem to be lasting forever which is a good thing. I put the flowers in ball jars and then placed them in vintage brick molds that I purchased from Debra Hall Lifestyle.

Table Setting on the Porch

I bought the plates from Home Goods and the Pink Drink Glasses and Rose Gold Candlesticks from Amazon. The Copper Charger Plates are my absolute favorites! I have used these copper charges at least twenty-five times.

I am so in love with these copper chargers and candlesticks. Can you believe the Rose Gold Candlesticks cost only $7 each and the Copper Charger Plates are only $8? The Pink Drink Glasses are only $6 each. Aren’t those prices amazing?

Where to Find the Items Featured in my New Kitchen Summer Refresh

Here are the items that I found in my butlers pantry and used in my summer refresh. They are all very reasonably priced and you can use them over and over.

Don’t be surprised, but we will be using these chargers, dishes, placemats, and candlesticks for our nightly dinners during most of the summer season.

I am sorry I couldn’t find a link to these plates. When I found them at Home Goods I paid $5.99 per plate! What a steal.

Summer Table for Entertaining

I absolutely love the look of our new summer kitchen and porch. I hope you are inspired to refresh your home with items you already own!

  6. Thank you for showing us such beauty! Every time I go to get inspired and see how you can use the space with benefit. You did it great. I think you have the makings of a designer. In your case, everything is just perfect. I really like how, in addition to this, you can still decorate your house in the theme of this or that time of the year and at the same time it still looks lovely and easy. I think that I should also use your advice, due to quarantine I have more time and I want to change a little the interior decoration of our house.
