Setting the Table For Fall

| |

I am excited to be part of a Fall Blog Tour for so many reasons! The first is that I am a huge fan of all of the talented ladies who are in this blog hop.  (All of the links to their blog posts are listed at the end of this post.) And fortunately, I now have some fall decor in my home. It’s hard to make the transition for fall when it’s ninety degrees outside. But the minute I decorated our dining room table and added some fall decor, I knew I was ready. I love this color palette. And I love setting the table for fall.

If you recall, my fall decor color palette from last year had no color. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it! But I was ready for a change and this year I decided I needed to add color. I didn’t choose the traditional green and orange. Instead, I decided to go with reds, oranges, and some pinks. Can I tell you how much I love this color palette?

I went to JOANN’S and found these cloth pumpkins. As soon as I saw them I knew they would be my color palette. I added in some faux greens and started “playing” in my dining room. I love creating a tablescape. It is a lot of trial and error and each attempt usually builds on the next. I started out with four different placemats but chose the rattan ones because they looked the best with the galvanized chargers. Then I opened up my cupboards and started layering. I tried a lot of different options and ended up with alternating styles.

Many of you know I am a dish hoarder. One of the advantages of having a serious dish collection “problem” is that all of my “shopping” for dishware took place in my butler’s pantry. I love to mix and match dishware and glassware and all of these are from my own collection.

I also pulled out these vintage gray and white brick molds which I got from my friend Debra Hall at Debra Hall Lifestyle. She has the coolest vintage finds of anyone I know.

I am most excited about these unbelievable napkins I got from Purple Rose Home. They look vintage, right? When I first saw them I thought for sure they were vintage. But no, they are new! How incredible is that? I love the size (22″ x 22″) and they come in twelve different colors. You can find these gorgeous linen napkins here at Purple Rose Home.

The tobacco baskets are from Vintage Love Design.

I opted to use a galvanized vase and chargers. They felt more rustic and I love how they tied everything together.

What is more fall than apples and pumpkins?

Now that you have seen my fall tablescape you need to hop on over and see the amazing decor my fellow bloggers have created.
