Arranging a Basket of Hydrangeas
My favorite delivery to my front door is a box of hydrangeas. I can’t really explain it but hydrangeas just make me happy.
Would you like to receive an email when I write a new blog post?
My favorite delivery to my front door is a box of hydrangeas. I can’t really explain it but hydrangeas just make me happy.
I have promised my husband for months that I would set up a nice bar cart in our home. When the online interior design site Havenly shared their tips for styling a bar cart on their blog, I knew this was the motivation I needed to create one for our home.
I loved creating this DIY Spring Garden Party in our backyard. We had such a fun evening and I can’t wait to share how You Can Host a Dinner Like this too! Today I am thrilled to share a spring garden party that I hosted in our backyard. I made the chargers and placemats and…
If you Google “flower frog,” the first thing that comes up is “a device used by florists to hold flowers in place.” People have been decorating their homes with fresh flowers for centuries. Flower frogs were used to secure the flowers in the vase. Today, they are used for more than just flower arranging. Yesterday,…
A few days ago I posted a photo of my flower arranging room on my Instagram. The photo was somewhat “real life” as the room was kind of a mess. I was really surprised, and happy, with the reaction.
March is here! And my theme this month is Gardening. I know many of you are sitting there in freezing temperatures and wondering if I am crazy.
As the seasons change every few months, so does the decor in my home. Of course, if you had told me a year ago that I would be changing my decor every few months, I would have said you were crazy. I am coming up on my one year anniversary of when I started @my100yearoldhome on…
I never expected that putting all of my Christmas decor away would be so much fun. Tackling the kitchen wasn’t difficult at all. In fact, I really enjoyed styling our kitchen for the winter season.
Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away and my table is almost set. I know you are surprised since I love to set tables in my dining room. But I am almost done. I still have to decide on the china pattern and I need to plan out my flowers.
Chip and Joanna Gaines are at it again. Yesterday Target Stores officially opened their new Hearth & Hand Magnolia “store within a store”. I won’t mention who, but someone I know has been peeking inside the plastic surrounding the “store” they have been building at our local target store. I have been really excited to see the final “store within the store” so today I was at Target shortly after it opened.
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am that our 100-year-old home is featured on the Home Bunch website. As I wrote to Luciane at Home Bunch, I still cannot believe she invited me to be a part of “Beautiful Homes of Instagram”.
As we got closer to the photo shoot day I enlisted the help of my closest girlfriend and started making a list for my pre-visit to the farmer’s market and the flower mart. Fresh flowers and greens (as in eucalyptus) are really important and since we are only 15 minutes away from the flower mart in downtown Los Angeles, I try to visit as often as I can. The pumpkins, food and fresh fruit that we needed for the photo shoot were purchased at the farmer’s market.
Today I’m keeping it simple and sharing how effective it is to decorate with neutrals! Take it from someone who used to have FIVE different prominent colors in their home… neutrals are the way to go!
Last weekend I was thrilled to host my family for a Sunday evening garden themed dinner party. My brother and his family were in town from Atlanta so I thought it might be fun to incorporate peaches into the menu. Read on to see more photos and see the menu!
Yesterday I shared the first part of my home tour which featured the dining room, butlers pantry, kitchen and family eating area. Today there’s more! So click over to see what else is in store for this home tour!
Welcome to my first ever Summer Styling Blog Tour from July of 2017. I remember this tour very well as I was very nervous! I hope you enjoy looking back into the past with me. Three years ago, I was thrilled to be invited to join six other bloggers (who I love) on a blog…
