Recapping Our Holiday Party

|

Our home is slowly getting back to normal after our holiday party. The gazillion liquor bottles, beer cans and wine bottles from the bar are back in the basement and wine cellar. And just so you know, we don’t mind having extras from the bar as somehow they manage to disappear throughout the year. Go figure …

The furniture has yet to make it back in the house. Our dining room and family room chairs are in my art studio and our big white swivel pottery barn chair is in our living room. We always try to make more room for people at our party so that’s why the furniture gets moved out.

Food

The food was a huge success. I took this photo before all of the food was out but you can get the idea. This is the green vintage door I bought at the Rose Bowl Flea Market last weekend, in case you recognize it.

Once again, the most popular item on the menu was the crab cakes with lemon dill sauce. They’re so delicious!

The desserts came out really well. I don’t eat sweets but everyone said they were delicious.

We put the bar outside on the back porch. We closed the drapes and with a fire in the fireplace and the heaters in the ceiling, the back porch can be really cozy and warm.

Bar

I have no idea how many people showed up but the house was packed all night!

And here I am with our family, minus our youngest son who is in France. We will see him next week!

Happy holidays everyone!

    1. It looks like Davenport Tan from Benjamin Moore. I had it my last house and it’s a nice milk chocolate color. Of coarse, I could be way off! Ha
