Outdoor Entertaining with Target Dollar Spot

| |

Today I am sharing how I set our outdoor entertaining area with four items from Target Dollar Spot. You know the aisle where everything is priced $1.00 or $3.00.

My blogger friends and I thought it might be fun if we styled a scene in our homes with items from the Target Dollar Spot aisle. So we all shopped at the Target Dollar Spot, the area right at the entrance to Target where all items are under $3.00.

I love this idea. I always glance at the Dollar Spot section just to see if there is something I can’t live without. I have to admit that I have bought a lot of items there during the Christmas holidays. I do need to confess that I did shop three different times. I found one of the clay painted pots a few weeks ago and went to another Target this week to find the other two. I was in a hurry and literally bought most of these items within about five minutes. Of course, I had no idea what I was going to do with them. But I love how everything turned out for my outdoor entertaining dinner party.

These are the items I purchased. They are all from the Dollar Spot section and I think I spent about $21.00.

Usually, when I set a table I just wing it. So that’s exactly what I did here.

The first thing I did was place the two table runners on a diagonal on the table.

Next, I bent the stems of the succulents and put them in the clay pots. I absolutely love the painted pots.

I had no idea how I was going to use the chalk when I bought it. I wanted to do something fun with the placemats/chargers so I pulled out the chalkboard placemats I made last year. I decided to copy the design from the table runner on to the chalkboards.

I wasn’t trying to copy the design exactly. Rather, I wanted a loose interpretation of the design. I am happy how it came out.

I love the green faux garlands I bought. They add a nice touch to the centerpiece.

I finished off the table with plates, napkins, glasses, and silverware that I already owned. I can’t believe how much I love this table setting.

Who would have ever thought I could create this from the Dollar Spot section at Target!

This challenge was so much fun. I love that this is casual, inexpensive and creative. That’s the best kind of table setting if you ask me.

  1. I love Target Dollar Spot! I go to more than one location because they’re not all exactly the same. I might have an addiction. I’m just sayin.
