MASTER BEDROOM REMODEL // Making Headway

| |

IMG_0474If you recall, I started a makeover of our Master Bedroom when my husband was out of town. The first thing we did was rip out the ugly orange/brown marble on the fireplace. I pulled out some old marble that was left over from our master bath remodel. But we ran out and had to put the project on hold to order some more marble tiles.

I also painted the walls gray. The color is great but it took a lot of trial and error to get the right shade of gray.

Then I built a headboard from an old vintage door. I love it. And it’s funny because I realized my husband and I had never had a headboard before. That’s so unusual.

Next, I went shopping for new bedding and curtains. I found the down comforter cover and all of the pillows on sale at Pottery Barn. I wanted to use all white but knew that I needed to select different fabrics and textures to keep the bed interesting. One of my favorite finds is the coverlet from Target. I love the rough edges and fact that it is elegant and kind of messy at the same time!

The drapes are from Home Goods. I am not sure if you can see the cute puff balls on the edges of the drapes. They are adorable. They are a little see-through so I ordered some white cotton roller blinds from Blinds-To-Go to help darken the room at night.
