Most of you know how much we enjoy our back porch. It has three different areas which include the covered seating area, the dining area, and the seating area right outside the french doors. Each of these areas has a lot of patio furniture. Of these three areas, the one we use the least is this seating area. And let me tell you why.
We have all shopped at the Target Dollar Spot. Actually, maybe we all haven’t shopped it, but you know the area I am talking about. It’s right where you walk into Target and everything is priced $1.00 or $3.00. My blogger friends and I thought it might be fun if we styled a scene in our homes with items from the Target Dollar Spot aisle. It’s still February and I am trying to find comfort in our home. I am following the guidelines of the Danish word Hygge which is pronounced “who-gah”. I know, it’s pronounced nothing like it looks.
Last week a few of you thought I needed to grasp more of the overreaching concept that hygge is more of a lifestyle than just comfort and simplicity. I couldn’t agree more and I am trying my best. Sadly, by nature, my life is a bit complex. I do have a tendency to pack a bit too much in my days. So I am working on simplifying things and getting organized. All of my ideas don’t involve buying anything new. Instead, I am using things around the home that I already own to add hygge whenever and wherever I can
I have already started my Christmas shopping! As a #HickoryFarmsPartner I found so many fabulous gifts for family members and friends. Can I just say how much I love the variety and creativity of their gift baskets?
Trying to select a sofabed or daybed for the Beach Cottage project was an interesting project. If you recall, the beach cottage is going to be rented on a short term basis, so any time you can add a bed, it’s a good thing. The problem is who wants a sofabed in the entryway of the cottage? And what sofabed is reasonably priced, good looking and comfortable?
Spending a week in Waco was fabulous. But coming home is always amazing. I had a few projects to tackle today and the first was to restyle my entryway. Of course, that meant I had to unload the flea market items from my car. Perhaps I should mention they have been there for over two weeks. Oh, my.
