I started this blog three years ago because I wanted to paint abstract art that looked good in farmhouse style homes. It took me three years, but I finally painted some paintings for our Waco Airbnb.
I am an artist who paints abstract art. Who knew! Previous to th8is job, I was a full-time artist. I traveled all over the country teaching art and art marketing workshops. I had a website, Instagram, a weekly podcast, blog and sold a lot of art. Three years ago I was watching my favorite show Fixer Upper and it occurred to me that there was hardly any art in the Fixer Upper homes. It was that day that I decided to start a new Instagram called My 100 Year Old Home. My goal was to build a following of about 5000 followers and then paint a collection of abstract art that would fit in farmhouse-style homes.
Did you know you can keep up some of your Christmas decor by just “transitioning” it to winter? Transitioning from Christmas to Winter Decor is such a fun idea and today I am going to show you how to do it.
I am sitting here staring at the beautiful Christmas décor in our dining room and dreading the task of taking it all down. And then it suddenly occurred to me that I don’t need to take it all down. I just need to transition my décor from Christmas to Winter.
I absolutely love our Waco home decorated for the holidays. I hope you love these Christmas decorating ideas as much as I do.

Before I left Waco last week, I was able to decorate our Waco Airbnb for the holidays. I am so thankful that I found all of these items at the local JOANN store in Waco. JOANN has the best Christmas wreaths and floral decor this year and I found so many great items to decorate our entire home! All of the items are from the JOANN Handmade Holiday collection which I absolutely love.
Although I am trying to avoid it, I think it is finally time to add fall decor to our kitchen! Our kitchen is what is called a working kitchen. I cook dinner at least five nights a week and am always entertaining friends and family whenever I can.
Finding the perfect bedding is not always a universal solution. Before you even start looking at bedding you need to understand what your needs are in your bedroom. I partnered with The Company Store to find the perfect bedding for two of our bedrooms. I needed to select products for our master bedroom in California and one of the bedrooms in our Waco Airbnb. So what’s the added bonus? The Company Store is having a 25% off sitewide Labor Day Sale with free shipping this weekend! Just use the code H19LDWKD.
Today I have joined four other bloggers to share our summer decorating ideas. For me, decorating for summer this year was simple and fun. I started in our living room when I took down all of our drapes! The change is absolutely fantastic and I cannot believe how much better I like this room.
