The Start of the Living Room Makeover

I am finally making progress on the living room. It’s by far the darkest room in our house and only gets used for family events and holidays. I am hoping I can change that. It just might need a new, lighter coat of paint.

The living room has always felt crowded so I decided to move the two chairs up to our master bedroom to replace the green chairs, which do not match anything. The new white slip covered chairs look fabulous in our bedroom!

So without the two chairs, we have more room and the perfect place for my new favorite piece of furniture. More on that in my next blog post!

I am so in love with her house that I could probably be arrested for being a stalker. I love her blog and I love her Instagram feed. She has some chairs and a love seat slipcovered with a pleat at the bottom. I love it so much that I just showed my upholsterer a photo from her feed. And I love how they turned out.

I am hoping I can find something wonderful, even if I have to cut off the legs. The black table here was left at our house from when we filmed a commercial. It’s from Pottery Barn and I happened to mention to the filming company that I liked it. So they just left it for me, which was really thoughtful. (Of course, we have filmed here a gazillion times since and I always manage to mention if there is something I like. Usually, nothing happens … boo hoo.)

The only problem this room has right now is an abundance of furniture that is being stored in this room. It’s all very dark wood and it really needs to go outside to be added to the “to be painted white” stack of furniture that is already out there. I think I will be painting furniture for weeks.
