Decorating our family room for the holidays was so much fun. I think the red has made such a difference in this room. And I am not sure if we will have to wait for valentines day for it to reappear! I mean those pillows aren’t even from Christmas!
Now that I have a new flower arranging room I am so motivated to arrange flowers! I thought it might be fun to share once a month how I arrange flowers found at your local grocery store. Today I am using flowers that I purchased at Trader Jose.
I went to my local Trader Joes this week and checked out their flower inventory.
Once I put on the new slipcovers and hung the new chandeliers, it was time for some accessories. So first, I needed a new rug.
When I teach my painting workshops, each of my students gets an apron embroidered with their name on it. I used to spend $12 on each apron to have them embroidered. Since I taught 12 – 14 workshops a year, I finally figured out that it would be much cheaper if I embroidered them myself.
Before I started transforming the decor in my home to a farmhouse style, I had a lot of color in my house. My living room was tan with highlights of aqua and my family room was gray, dark red and green. Our master bedroom was themed in yellow with orange highlights. Oh heavens, now that I am writing this I realize how awful it sounds! What was I thinking?
A few months ago I was asked if I wanted to participate in a Summer Home Blog Tour. There are so many bloggers that I admire participating in the tour and I can’t believe they asked me to join them. Needless to say, I am very excited and just so you know, the tour goes live on July 24th.
