Mother’s Day Tablescape Blog Hop

| |

Mother’s Day is one of those holidays that my husband freaks out about. He thinks I should take the day off, and enjoy being spoiled.

And yet, I always want to honor my mother on Mother’s Day. Thus, my husband has no idea what to do!

The most important thing for me to do on Mother’s Day is to create a perfect setting and wonderful Mother’s Day for my mom! So this year I am going to cook brunch for my mom and family. Then later in the day, my husband and sons will prepare dinner for me!

You can imagine how thrilled I was to be asked to join ten other bloggers to create a tablescape for Mother’s Day. I knew immediately that I wanted to feature a Mother’s Day brunch and that I wanted to do something in our yard. I also knew I wanted to do something different.

I purchased three vintage lampshades a few months ago. I have been wanting to convert them to a chandelier and I decided this was the perfect time to do just that! So I removed the torn fabric and headed to the hardware store for lamp parts that would make my chandeliers actually give off some light. Click here for the blog post on how to make these awesome vintage chandeliers.

I set the table with a gray linen table cloth and galvanized chargers from Pier 1. The plates are part of my vintage china collection and they are my favorite plates of all time! The hydrangeas are from Flowers by Gallonei. They are my favorite hydrangea supplier as they ship directly from South America and Fed Ex shipping is free! I added some fresh eucalyptus to the table that I purchased at the flower mart in downtown Los Angeles.

I hung the homemade vintage chandeliers from the light string we already have hanging in our back yard. The setting is just magical.

I am really excited about the brunch menu I put together. We will be serving:

Berry and Yoghurt Crumbles (in mason jars of course!)

Poached Eggs and Avocado Toast

Thirty Minute Orange Knots

The menu is healthy and refreshing and going to be delicious. Click here for all of the recipes.
