The most common question I get on my Instagram and blog is “What is the paint color in that room?”. We all struggle to try to find the perfect paint color. I can’t tell you how many times I was convinced that the paint chips I had picked out were perfect for a room. Only to get them home and realize I was way off!
So what’s the secret? Should we paint sample after sample on the wall with hopes that a color that looked great in someone else’s home might look great in ours too?Or should we create mood boards that include all of the colors in a room and select the paint colors that way?

It’s been many months that I have been searching for a wool chunky blanket. You know, those knitted throws that have really think yarn and are knit on the biggest knitting needles ever made. They are cozy and gorgeous and I am in love with them.Read More

I love plants. Especially real ones. So this week I have been on the search for a fiddle leaf fig plant. The big question is “Real or faux?” I know a real one is by far the best, but sometimes a girl has got to be practical and sneak in a faux one every once in a while.
I read recently that when the world around you faces uncertainty we all have a tendency to strive for a simple, clutter free life. Given the political climate in the US and all of the scary events happening overseas, I am definitely aiming for a simpler life. My recent renovations in our house have helped a lot as I have donated a ton of bags of clothing and a lot of furniture! It feels so good. But there is one thing that drives me crazy 24/7. And that is my purse.
I just realized I should probably do a new blog post on collecting chalkboards. If you walk around my house I think you would be shocked to see how many I have hanging on my walls. Technically I think I have another collection … chalkboards (you can see when I’ve posted about them here, here and here). Big surprise.
The problem is … what do I put on them? I love writing funny things and messages but I don’t love my handwriting. Fortunately, I came up with a solution.
