FINDS OF THE WEEK // The Fiddle Leaf Search

I love plants. Especially real ones. So this week I have been on the search for a fiddle leaf fig plant. The big question is “Real or faux?” I know a real one is by far the best, but sometimes a girl has got to be practical and sneak in a faux one every once in a while.Screen Shot 2017-07-05 at 10.51.14 PM.png

IDEA OF THE WEEK // Solving the Purse Clutter Problem

I read recently that when the world around you faces uncertainty we all have a tendency to strive for a simple, clutter free life. Given the political climate in the US and all of the scary events happening overseas, I am definitely aiming for a simpler life. My recent renovations in our house have helped a lot as I have donated a ton of bags of clothing and a lot of furniture! It feels so good. But there is one thing that drives me crazy 24/7. The problem is … what do I put on them? I love writing funny things and messages but I don’t love my handwriting. Fortunately, I came up with a solution.

FIND OF THE WEEK // Publishing Your Own Cookbook

A few years ago I self-published my own cookbook. It’s called Old, New, Borrowed and Bleu and features my favorite recipes as well as all of our treasured family recipes. At the time the highly regarded website Epicurious had a self-publishing cookbook called Tastemade. The end result was fantastic. Needless to say, my family members and friends were very happy with their Christmas gift that year.

FIND OF THE WEEK // Recipe Holder

IMG_0131

There was a time when all of my recipes came from my recipe box or my huge collection of cookbooks. Nowadays, I seem to find my inspiration online from Pinterest and the very enticing Tasty videos. When it comes time to cooking one of these recipes, I usually print the recipe and then leave it on my island … only to find it ruined with remnants of my cooking exploration! (This can’t just be me…)
